Due to the nature of our business, and how we acquire our items, below are our Item/ Product Descriptions, and Condition Guidelines:

Brand New:

New condition with no cosmetic defects


Shows typical, although minor, signs of wear. 

EX: A minor scratch that isn’t noticeable to the visible eye.

Very Good:

Considered presentable, but has had some minor repairs to the surface.

EX: A chip on an item that has been retouched by paint.


Shows significant signs of wear and needs attention to restore it to a very good condition.

EX: Visible marks, scratches, or chips that have NOT been addressed or repaired.

Please read posted condition and review on all products before purchasing an item that is not considered NEW.

We do not accept returns. 

Each auction will post all the important information to include:

  1. Opening and Closing Date
  2. Starting Bids
  3. Bid Increments
  4. Pick Up and Shipping Details
  5. Invoice and Payment Details

We have a one day pickup process with a specific date, time and location.

After you pay for your order, you will receive a confirmation email with the pickup address and a link to schedule your time.

Please note if you are unable to pickup your order on the designated date or fail to schedule a time, your order is deemed abandoned and no refund will be issued.

After you win your item, you will be immediately able to purchase it.

If you do not pay within 24 hours, your order will be canceled and the 2nd highest bidder has the right to purchase if the “reserved price” was met.  

All non-paying customers will be banned from participating in any future auctions. On our website, we accept:  Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, Paypal, and GooglePay.

Once we receive your payment, your order will move from “processing” to “confirmed”.

At this stage, you will be sent a confirmation email with a link to schedule your pickup or your shipping details. 

We will make every effort to describe items as accurately as possible.  Please review our “item description” clause before bidding in an auction.

Due to the nature of our business, expect normal signs of wear associated with vintage, antiques, and gently used items.

All items are sold “AS IS” and we do not issue refunds or accept returns.  

*See our shipping policy for items that are received through the mail damaged.

After you make a purchase, you will receive a confirmation email immediately. If you do not receive one, please contact hoab@august-day.com.

On some occasions, the email goes to the spam box, or an incorrect email was accidentally entered during the purchasing process.

The next step is a shipping label is created, and a tracking number will be sent to you. This process can take up to 3 business days.

The shipping time is based on when the USPS picks up orders. House of Afro Boho has no control over package arrival time once the item is picked up by USPS. The courier assumes responsibility for the packages once they are picked up from us.

We are also not responsible for stolen, lost, or damaged items. We require all items to carry insurance based on the purchased amount due to the nature of our business and the fragility of most of our items.

Please confirm your correct address and important contact information during checkout. We are not responsible for packages delivered to incomplete, wrong, or insufficient addresses provided during check out.

Below is the circumstance that requires you to file a claim directly with USPS:

Your package is marked as “delivered” and you did not receive it. Also, any package that is marked as “Abandoned” is not eligible for insurance claims.

If you receive a damaged item, please send us an email at orders@august-day.com with a picture and details of the damages.

All items are insured, so we will send you instructions on how to file a claim.
